چکیده
Regularizing Finite-Element Digital Image Correlation (FE-DIC) problems is essential when using fine meshes, for instance to get a direct bridge with simulation tools or in view of performing data assimilation. Shape optimization brings comparable concerns so it proposed draw inspiration from this field research. In respect, new general spline-based non-invasive regularization scheme proposed, based on the Free-Form Deformation (FFD) concept that offers opportunity decouple design space actual geometry be updated. The main idea embed input FE mesh, any element type size, into simple cuboid B-spline box and relate nodal dof measured another more regular discretized by box. length thus directly driven refinement. A specific care taken handle possible conditioning caused non-influential control points. From practical point view, method can interpreted as projection reduced basis; therefore, results regularized but conventional which simply computed standard FE-DIC code. developed applied displacement measurement DIC mesh-based stereo-DIC. PB-FFD: A Point-Based Technique for Free-Form Deformation
This paper presents PB-FFD, a novel, interactive, point-based technique for performing free-form deformation of polygonal meshes. First, a volumetric deformation space is de ned as the linear combination of overlapping, ellipsoidal radial basis functions (EBFs) of compact support. Mesh vertices are then parameterized with respect to local coordinate frames centered over the origins of the EBFs....
متن کاملDisplacement monitoring of a Long-Span Arch Railway Bridge using Digital Image Correlation (DIC)
There is an escalating demand for condition monitoring enhancement of transport infrastructures worldwide. Bridges are of vital importance in transportation infrastructure and need such monitoring. In this research, a non-contact vision-based technique called Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was used to calculate the bridge displacements. A high frame rate camera with 4K capability was used for ...
متن کاملA Generalization of Free-Form Deformation Image Registration Within the ITK Finite Element Framework
Since the 1970’s B-splines have evolved to become the de facto standard for use in curve and surface representation. This resulted in a relatively recent proliferation of nonrigid image registration techniques based on B-splines. These techniques fall under the general Free-Form Deformation (FFD) approach in which the object to be registered is embedded within a B-spline object. The deformation...
متن کاملInvestigation of Strain Measurements using Digital Image Correlation with a Finite Element Method
This article proposes a digital image correlation (DIC) strain measurement method based on a finite element (FE) algorithm. A two-step digital image correlation is presented. In the first step, the gradientbased subpixels technique is used to search the displacements of a region of interest of the specimen, and then the strain fields are obtained by utilizing the finite element method in the se...
متن کاملFree-Form B-spline Deformation Model for Groupwise Registration.
In this work, we extend a previously demonstrated entropy based groupwise registration method to include a free-form deformation model based on B-splines. We provide an efficient implementation using stochastic gradient descents in a multi-resolution setting. We demonstrate the method in application to a set of 50 MRI brain scans and compare the results to a pairwise approach using segmentation...
